What is Barion?
Barion is an electronic payment service that allows you to pay conveniently and securely on our website using your bank card or a pre-funded Barion balance. The service is provided by Barion Payment Plc., an e-money institution regulated by the National Bank of Hungary, licence number: H-EN-I-1064/2013.
How can I pay?
You can pay online using:
- Your bank card: We accept Visa, Visa Electron, Maestro, Mastercard, and American Express. This means we accept both embossed and non-embossed cards.
- Your Barion Wallet: You can top up your Barion Wallet with cash (at any CIB Bank branch) or by bank transfer. This means you can indirectly pay us using cash or a bank transfer. The Barion system also processes bank card payments.
Registration with Barion (opening a Barion Wallet) is not required for bank card payments; you just need to enter your card number, expiry date, and the CVC code found on the back of your card. Please note that your bank card details are not shared with us.
However, if you register with Barion, you'll never need to enter your card details again at any merchant that accepts Barion. To pay, you'll only need your email address and password. This is not only convenient but also enhances your security!
I don't have a bank card. Can I pay by bank transfer or with cash?
Yes! You can pay with cash or by bank transfer:
If you don't have a bank card but do have a bank account you can transfer from, then:
- Open a free Barion Wallet.
- Top up your Barion Wallet via bank transfer. You can find more detailed information on how to do this here.
- Then, pay on our site using your Barion Wallet.
If you don't have a bank account but do have cash, then:
- Open a free Barion Wallet.
- Top up your Barion Wallet with a cash deposit at any CIB Bank branch nationwide.
- Then, pay on our site using your Barion Wallet.
Is Barion secure?
Yes, completely.
Barion is a state-of-the-art, highly secure, and extremely simple online payment method.
Barion payments are operated by Barion Payment Plc., an electronic money institution. Its NBH licence, valid throughout the European Union, is H-EN-I-1064/2013. Its institutional identifier is 25353192.
The Barion system is compliant with PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard) requirements!
The Barion system uses an SSL certificate issued by Symantec, featuring a 2048-bit RSA key and Class 3 EV (Extended Validation) – the same level of security used by banking websites.
Convenient and secure online payment is provided by Barion Payment Zrt.
